The capability offers an evolving list of security offerings to protect its users holistically. Advanced Protection goes a step further than traditional 2-Step Verification process. It requires a user to use a physical Security Key in addition to your password to sign in to their Google Account. How Advanced Protection works Any interested individual can enroll in the program by buying two security keys. These Security keys help protect users against hackers by preventing them from accessing their account. For adding the key to your account, Add Key to your account Launch the Chrome browser and go to your Google Account.
On the left navigation panel, select Security.
In the “Signing into Google” panel, select 2-Step Verification. If you haven’t set up 2-Step Verification already, select Get started. Otherwise, move on.
Select ‘Choose another option’ and then select ‘Security Key’. Follow the steps to add your security key.

Sign in using your key Once the key is added to your account, use it to sign in whenever possible. If a security key fails to work on your computer or browser, you’ll get an option to sign in with a code or prompt instead. Also, do note any time you sign in from a new computer or device, you’ll be prompted to use your security key, again. Ask Google to remember your computer After you’ve signed in with your key, you can sign in with just your password. Let’s see how to configure this.
