Tree Style Tab add-on for Firefox
Tree Style Tab has a whole lot of features to make browsing with multiple tabs easier, neater and more organized on Firefox: Tree Style Tab is the perfect way to organize tabs for those who open multiple tabs as they browse. Too many tabs across a web browser can look untidy and confusing. Tree Style Tab makes it easy to have multiple tabs open at the same time without the cluttered confusing look.
1] You can collapse/expand sub trees
Being able to collapse or expand subtree allows for the neat storage and retrieval of a lot of tabs. This is perfect for times when someone must use a lot of tabs. New tabs opened from the current tab are automatically organized as “children” of the current.Such “branches” are easily folded (collapsed) by clicking on down-triangle shown in a “parent” tab, so you don’t need to be suffered from too many visible tabs anymore. If you hope, you can restructure the tree via drag and drop.
2] Bookmarks
Tree Style Tab will show you a list of your bookmarks. Just click on the drop-down arrow at Tree Style Tab on the tab tree then click bookmarks then click other bookmarks from the list. This should show a list of the bookmarks that were saved from the browser. You can create bookmarks from tabs by right-clicking on the tab then go down to tree of tabs then chose bookmark.
3] Parent and sub-tabs closed on one action
When you close a tab, which has collapsed subtree, all of the tabs in the subtree will be closed, only one action required. While most lists and sitemaps are usually on the left by default, Tree Style Tab gives the option to have the tree of tabs on the right. This is for persons who would prefer that location.
4] Vertical tab bar can be shown/hidden automatically
This is a useful feature as it will allow the tabs to be hidden when not in use, allowing for more space to view content on the page. This also allows the page to look more organized and less cluttered.
5] New child tab can be opened automatically from the location
New child tab can be opened automatically from the location bar if the website is the same as the current tab. Different websites can be opened in a new tab too.
6] A link can be loaded in a new child tab automatically
A link can be loaded in a new child tab automatically if it is to a different website. If you wish, you can load any link in the new child tab.
7] Save/restore the tree of tabs over sessions
You can save/restore the tree of tabs over sessions, by Session Manager or other session-management addons.
8] Drag and drop
Tabs can be dragged and dropped to rearrange in whatever order of preference or to change the parent tab or category. Also, if you focus/hover on the bar, Ctrl-Up/Down/Right/Left can be used to modify the tree. This means you can move tabs to different sections under different headings.
9] Changing tab bar position
The tab bar can be moved to the left side, right side, top, or bottom. A horizontal tree is also available. This allows for easier viewing of webpages based on user preferences.
10] Treat the tree of tabs like grouped tabs/containers for similar topics
It can store similar tabs in categories of your choosing, you can think of them as container tabs. This is a very good and neat way to store all the tabs that fall under a certain category or based on your search criteria. Tree Style Tab is very useful for organizing tabs neatly especially when using lots of tabs. It works as a site map and makes browsing with multiple tabs neater and much easier. You can download it from the official Mozilla website.
