Set up your Surface device after Repair
You can set up your Surface in just 5 steps, as follows in this particular order: Now let’s delve into the details.
1) Turn on your Surface and complete setup
Here, you’ll need to use the same Microsoft account you used on your original Surface device. This lets you access your same settings, calendar, contacts, and email.
2) Install updates
After setup is complete, install the latest updates for your Surface and Windows. To check for updates, do the following: Navigate to Settings > Update and security > Windows Update. Then click Check for updates. After you’ve installed any available updates, restart your Surface device, and then check for updates again. Repeat this until there are no more updates. Also update your Microsoft Store app. To do so, do the following:
Select the Start button, and then select Microsoft Store.Select the Profile or More (… ellipsis) menu, and then select Downloads and updates.Choose the Microsoft Store update and select Download now.
3) Pair your Bluetooth accessories

4) Restore your files
Here, you’ll need to add the files that you previously backed up. You can also watch this video on how to restore a backup to your Surface device. If you backed up your files to OneDrive, you can access them whenever you need them. You can also restore files with File History or File Explorer. 5) Reinstall your apps
When you get your Surface device back from a repair or service center, you’ll need to reinstall your Windows apps and other software, like Microsoft Office. To Reinstall Windows apps, do the following:
Select the Start button, and then select Microsoft Store.Select More menu, and then select My Library.Choose the apps or games you want to install and select Download.
Reinstall Microsoft Office:
When you’re ready, you can reinstall Office.
Reinstall any other third-party apps or programs:
Install any other programs you used by either visiting the software developer’s site or by installing it from the program DVD you purchased.
